55m / 180ft Feadship Kahalani
Kahalani means ‘heavenly place’ and this 55-metre / 180 feet Feadship is certainly a little piece of floating heaven on earth.
If you enjoy spotting Feadships, Kahalani is a fine one to watch as her style has echoes of previous Feadship designs. After spending years enjoying the 1993 Feadship Sea Sedan, the owner of Kahalani decided to fashion a larger version of his own within a new exterior profile.
He also included elements of another successful Feadship, Hurricane Run. Check out the rounded shapes of the dodgers, the recessed window mullions, a teak cap rail that runs over the fashion plate on the main deck aft, stainless steel strips on the funnel, and the use of a pronounced black colour for the drainage lines. All these attributes are seamlessly blended on Kahalani with classic Feadship features such as the raised bow and dashing flair.
The interior was also highly impressive and won the best design prize for a displacement motoryacht at the ShowBoats Design Awards. “Feadship is a dream factory, producing work of an unbelievably high quality for some of the most demanding customers in the world,” said the owner at the launch of Kahalani. “Like the best football teams have the best players, and the best armies have the best soldiers, the best companies also have the best workforce.
